Understanding 2-Piece Egg Cartons
A 2-piece egg carton consists of two separately formed plastic components – typically a tray section and a cover section. This design offers superior egg protection, improved product visibility, convenient opening and closing mechanisms, enhanced retail presentation, and flexible packaging design options compared to single-piece alternatives.
Thermoforming Process Overview
1. Automatic Sheet Feeding
Thermoforming sheet is automatically fed into the machine with precision toward the heating section.
2. Sheet Heating
The sheet passes through the heating system, reaching optimal forming temperature. Parameters are adjustable for PET, PP materials, sheet thickness, product shape, depth, and production speed.
3. Positive & Negative Pressure Forming
Heated sheet enters the forming station where positive air pressure and negative vacuum pressure work together to shape the material against the mold, ideal for multi-cavity egg packaging with detailed structures.
4. Cutting
Formed egg cartons are separated from the surrounding sheet using precision cutting molds designed for specific product shapes and cavity arrangements.
5. Automatic Stacking
Finished products are automatically stacked for easy collection, inspection, packing, and transportation.
